Astro Boy: The Video Game is an action-adventure title released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) on October 20, 2009, coinciding with the theatrical release of the CGI film Astro Boy. Developed by High Voltage Software and published by D3Publisher, the game offers players the chance to control Astro Boy, a young robot with incredible powers, as he battles to save Metro City from the clutches of the evil President Stone and his robot army .​

Astonishia Story is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Sonnori and published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Originally released in 2006, it is a port of the 1994 Korean title Astonisha Story R. The game follows the journey of Lloyd, a knight tasked with recovering the stolen sacred relic known as the "Staff of Cainan" (referred to as the "Wand of Kinan" in some materials), after his caravan is ambushed .​

The PSP version of The 40th Day offers a top-down perspective, differing from the console versions' third-person view. Players control Rios and Salem through various missions, employing a cover system and cooperative tactics. The game features a morality system where players' choices impact the storyline, including decisions that can affect the characters' fates .​

In Formula Front, players assume the role of an "Architect"—a designer and programmer who builds and tunes AI-controlled mechs, known as u/ACs (unmanned Armored Cores). These mechs compete in arena battles without direct player control. The primary challenge lies in customizing the mech's parts and programming its AI to perform effectively in combat. The North American release introduced the option to control the mech directly, referred to as a N-u/AC (Naked u/AC), though this mode is considered challenging due to the PSP's controls .​

Ape Escape: On the Loose is a platformer developed by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), released on March 17, 2005. It serves as a faithful remake of the original Ape Escape (1999), adapted for the PSP's controls and features.​  

In Ape Escape: On the Loose, players control Spike as he journeys through time to capture over 200 mischievous monkeys that have been sent by the villainous Specter to alter history. Armed with a variety of gadgets, including the Stun Club, Slingshot, and Sky Flyer, players navigate through vibrant levels set in diverse eras such as the Lost Land, Oceana, and Medieval Mayhem. The game introduces a "TimeStation" hub, from which players can access main levels, mini-games, tutorials, and save/load options. Each era comprises multiple stages filled with obstacles and enemies, culminating in boss battles.

Given the PSP's single analog stick, the controls have been adapted from the original PlayStation version. Movement is handled with the D-pad or analog stick, while gadgets are assigned to the face buttons. For instance, the Stun Club and Time Net are used by pressing the corresponding button, and gadgets that previously required analog rotation now function with rapid button presses.

Ape Escape: On the Loose includes several mini-games that can be unlocked by collecting Specter Coins scattered throughout the main levels:​

• Specter Boxing: Engage in one-on-one boxing matches against various monkeys.​Ski Kidz Racing: Race down snowy slopes, performing tricks to boost your speed.​

• Ape Ping Pong: A fast-paced table tennis game where players can unleash powerful smashes.​

• Jake Attacks: A cooperative obstacle course where players control Spike and his rival Jake to reach the finish line first. ​

These mini-games offer additional content and can be enjoyed solo or with a friend via local wireless multiplayer.

Ape Academy 2 is a party game developed by Shift and Alvion, published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It serves as the sequel to Ape Escape Academy and was released in Japan on December 15, 2005, followed by European and Australian releases in 2006. Notably, it was not initially released in North America. However, on March 21, 2023, it was re-released worldwide as a PSP Classic for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking its first official North American release   In Ape Academy 2, players engage in a unique blend of card battles and mini-games. The antagonist, Specter, has introduced a new card game that has become immensely popular among both humans and monkeys. Players must collect and strategically use over 300 cards in a rock-paper-scissors format to determine which mini-game will be played next. Winning these mini-games allows players to advance through various islands, each culminating in a boss battle. The ultimate goal is to defeat Specter and claim the rare "Platinum Specter" card and a year's supply of bananas   Ape Academy 2 received mixed reviews. Critics appreciated the variety of mini-games but noted that the card battle system could lead to repetitive gameplay. Some players found the structure limiting, as it often forced them to replay the same mini-games to progress .​
