This sequel to 2012’s top shooter game once again tests your ability to survive. With “Far Cry 4 – Limited Edition,” scout out enemy territory in Kyrat, pick the bad guys off from a distance, or charge in on the back of an elephant. The world is your deadly playground in this smash-hit Ubisoft game for the PlayStation 4. “Far Cry 4” was released by Ubisoft for the PS4 in 2014. This first-person, shooter-adventure game in an open world has many elements that fans of the previous PlayStation and Xbox 360 games will already know. There are still role-playing game elements in the gameplay, such as a level up system and a branching path story line. Action, stealth, and melee are also different combat methods. Players can still craft weapons, upgrade their abilities, and gain good karma depending on their behavior. The massively diverse PS4 game takes you to the fictional country of Kyrat, located deep in the Himalayas of the open world. You play as Ajay Ghale, who traveled to Kyrat for personal reasons. The country is torn apart by a civil war between its tyrant king, Pagan Min, and a group of rebels. Battle enemy soldiers while you complete missions, fight off dangerous wildlife, and progress deeper into the story. Ajay can use a variety of weapons. Many of them are standard weaponry, such as shotguns, sniper rifles, pistols, and even a rocket launcher. What sets this Far Cry game apart is how you can approach each fight differently. Melee takedowns are also completely valid ways to engage with the enemy. You can even kick objects over or hide enemy bodies, which is a new feature not seen in other Far Cry games. Your character is also pre-equipped with a digital camera. This lets you mark items of interest, such as enemies or loot. You can bait enemies toward you or attract local wildlife to attack your enemies for you. Ride on top of an elephant like a living tank that lets you charge into the fray as an unstoppable force. Several improvements were added to “Far Cry 4” on the PlayStation 4. There is a much larger landmass to explore, better graphics, and a new grappling hook mechanic. New modes of transportation, like elephants and helicopters, provide fun and unique ways to devastate your opposition. Improved skills let you take out enemies on your terms: stealthy and quiet or loud and violent. In addition, it also features new side-quests such as the Arena, which pits you against waves of enemy soldiers, and new wildlife quests where you face off against dangerous animals, including bears and tigers. The multiplayer mode is revolutionary for the PS4. The co-op takes place entirely online and lets a second player drop in at any point in the game. Together, players can take over enemy land, hunt, or just go exploring the map. The Limited Edition includes additional in-game missions and a new weapon, the Impaler harpoon gun. This game has an M rating for violence, sexual content, blood, and gore, so be prepared for some vicious, mind-startling action with “Far Cry 4” for the PlayStation 4.
